Town Hall work starts 9th August

On Friday 9th August,

1.  A full-height scaffold is to be erected against the West Elevation of the Town Hall, this will happen on Friday 9th August and should not affect traffic flow. This will be followed by full height scaffolding erected against the South Elevation along the length of the building. It is anticipated that scaffold to the South elevation will be erected in about 4 weeks after (this may alter due to availability of the sandstone).
2. Traffic flow through the Square:- the width of the road will be narrower due to safety barriers erected for the protection of the workforce. Traffic will be allowed to flow through, as it does normally on a turn and turnabout, give-way basis. Pedestrian access will be restricted.
A Pedestrian Marshall will be present whilst work is taking place to maintain safe access for pedestrians.
The overall duration of the work is anticipated to be 12 to 14 weeks.
3, Parking: of necessity parking in the Square will be restricted. The first two parking bays nearest to the Town Hall will be needed by the Contractors. Also parking on the opposite side of the road will be restricted for the first 2 or 3 cars lengths from the Town Hall.
Many apologies for any inconvenience this may cause - Clun Town Council with Chapel lawn.

Clun is a civil parish within the Shropshire unitary authority. The town of Clun lies in the south western corner of Shropshire, surrounded by hills and lying alongside the River Clun. It is thought that people lived here as far back as the Bronze Age, making Clun one of the most ancient settlements of the country.
